ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal - The Mobile Clinic that offers free chest x-ray screening went to Taguisan II, Barangay Bagong Nayon, Antipolo City, for the beneficiaries.
The screening aims to detect any signs of lung diseases such as tuberculosis, pneumonia, and lung cancer in preparation for or fighting against the disease, especially for those in need, such as those considered prone to this disease, such as seniors, people with HIV (PLHIV), diabetes, PWDs, and others.
The initiative was organized by the local government unit in a partnership led by Antipolo Mayor Junjun Ynares with a private healthcare provider and various non-government organizations.
The mayor said that the goal of the initiative is to provide accessible and affordable healthcare services to those who need them the most. The partnership aims to reach out to as many individuals as possible, especially those who are unable to afford expensive medical treatments and procedures.
The program includes free screening and diagnostic tests, counseling and education on prevention and management, as well as access to affordable treatment options. Through this initiative, the community is empowered to take control of their health and reduce the incidence of lung cancer in their area.
