BATANGAS CITY - The City Development Council (CDC) approved P317 million worth of the city's Supplemental Annual Investment Program (AIP) No. 2 at the Full Council Meeting held on June 2.
The meeting was presided over by Mayor Beverley Dimacuha, CDC Chairperson, who described the programs to be implemented by the local government as well as the dedicated budget for it, which is divided into three sectors. General Public Services has a budget of P50 million, Social Services has a budget of P2 million, and Economic Services has a budget of P265 million.
The council also approved the Local Development Investment Program (LDIP) 2023-2025 , which outlines the priority projects and programs for the next three years. The LDIP aims to address the needs and concerns of the community, promote sustainable development, and improve the quality of life of the residents.
This is a document that translates the Comprehensive Development Plan into a process where the projects and programs of an LGU are prioritized to determine what should be done first and allocate funds in the annual general fund or through special fund generation schemes.
The Supplemental AIP and the LDIP will be endorsed by the City Council for review and approval before implementation. The AIP and LDIP are important tools for LGUs to ensure that their resources are used efficiently and effectively to address the needs of their constituents.
The Chairman of the Committee on Appropriations, Coun. Karlos Buted, DILG City Director Esther Dator, City Administrator Engr. Sonny Godoy, Secretary to the City Mayor Atty. RD Dimacuha, city government department heads, barangay officials, representatives of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and other national agencies.
The meeting was managed by the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO), which is the secretariat of the CDC.
