PAGBILAO, Quezon - The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region IV-A Field Office recently conducted a localized Kilos-Unlad Training at the Senior Citizens Center in order to adopt the Municipal Action and Sustainability Plan for the household beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Pagbilao.
The training aimed to equip the beneficiaries with knowledge and skills on sustainable livelihoods and environmental conservation.
It also emphasized the importance of community participation in achieving sustainable development goals.
The participants were taught how to properly manage their household waste and encouraged to practice eco-friendly habits. Through this training, the beneficiaries are expected to contribute to the preservation of the environment while also improving their economic status.
Kilos-Unlad is a case management strategy used by the DSWD to improve the level of well-being and self-sufficiency of the 4Ps beneficiaries.
Kilos-Unlad spoeksperson said that the training on proper waste management and eco-friendly habits is just one of the many interventions provided to the beneficiaries.
This includes strengthening partnerships at the local level to lobby for services that help achieve this goal.
The DSWD has also been providing livelihood opportunities for them through various programs such as microfinance, livelihood training, and skill development.
The training was conducted in partnership with local government units and non-government organizations to ensure the sustainability of the program.
It also provided opportunities for the beneficiaries to apply their newly acquired knowledge and skills through hands-on activities and community projects.
