SANTA CRUZ, Laguna - In order to support Governor Ramil Hernandez and Congresswoman Ruth Hernandez in their efforts to advance a livelihood and employment program for the province of Laguna, the local government of Laguna recently hosted Capability Development for Barangay Employment Services Unit, or BESU, at the Cultural Center in Santa Cruz.

The employment program speakers were Eugene Gonzales of the Partnership for Development Assistance in the Philippines (PDAP), Atty. Anthea Rose Nepomuceno of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Janelle Agudo of Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Region IV-A (OWWA 4A), Riza Flores, and Randy Bacong.



The program aims to provide job opportunities and skills training for the residents of Laguna. The speakers discussed various initiatives and services that their respective organizations offer to support the program's objectives.

It was attended by 41 BESU representatives from seven municipalities in the province , as well as local government officials and community leaders.

The participants actively engaged in the discussion and shared their own ideas on how to further improve the program's impact in the community.

Some of the key topics that were tackled include entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihoods, and education. Overall, the event was a success in terms of promoting collaboration and cooperation among different stakeholders towards a common goal of uplifting the lives of Laguna residents.

Atikha is a partner of PESO in the program supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Strengthening CTIP Cooperative Development Program.

A group of experts from various fields, including agriculture, engineering, business administration, and finance, according to Atikha, are providing the training. is to further develop and broaden the knowledge of BESUs in their respective communities, resulting in better job opportunities and economic growth in the region.

PESO also collaborates with other government agencies and private organizations to provide employment opportunities and promote entrepreneurship in the province. These efforts aim to uplift the economic status of Laguna's residents and contribute to the overall development of the region.

Meanwhile, this initiative is part of the government's commitment to uplift the lives of the people in Laguna and empower them to become self-sufficient and productive members of society.

The government has also implemented various programs and projects in Laguna to improve the quality of education, healthcare, and infrastructure in the province. Through these efforts, the government hopes to create a more prosperous and sustainable future for Laguna and its people.

Moreover, the government has also encouraged the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in Laguna to boost economic activity and provide employment opportunities. Additionally, efforts have been made to preserve the natural resources and promote eco-tourism in the province to attract more visitors and generate income for the local communities.
