CARMONA, Cavite - Two (2) Persons with Disability Affairs Office-Carmona Cavite (PDAO) learners, Mark Andrei Molina and Vince Robert Bandin, won and were included in the Overall Top 4 youth with disabilities of the 2023 National Information Technology (IT) Challenge of the National Council on Disability Affairs on June 26–27, 2023, at Bayview Park Hotel, Manila.
They are among the delegates who will compete in the 2023 Global IT Challenge to be held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The IT Challenge Among Differently Abled Youth took place with the help and support of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the National Youth Commission (NYC), and the various local government unit and their Local Youth Development Office , who encouraged the youth to participate.
A total of 30 youth with disabilities completed the two-day IT Challenge in five categories: eLifeMap, eTool PowerPoint Presentation, eTool Excel, eContent (Movie Making), and eCreative Smart Car (Robotics).
Joniro Fradejas, executive director of NCDA said the IT Challenge provides a platform for youth with disabilities to showcase their skills and talents in various IT fields. It aims to promote inclusivity and equal opportunities for all participants, regardless of their disabilities.
"The event not only encourages competition but also fosters camaraderie and collaboration among the participants, creating a supportive and empowering environment for everyone involved." he said.
