BARAS, Rizal - Tree planting, trash sorting, and energy saving programs all fall under the umbrella of "annual Tree Planting Activity," which this year was held on June 11, 2023, in Sitio Ungga, Brgy. Rizal, and was led by Mayor Wilfredo C. Robles and Vice Mayor KC Robles.

The aforementioned activities are part of the town's celebration of the 122nd anniversary of the establishment of the Province of Rizal as well as a response to the provincial government's Yes To Green Program.

The activities were supervised by the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), which said the goal of the activity was to raise sustainability and environmental consciousness in the town of Baras.

"Everyone's participation in environmental work such as planting trees is important. Trees provide fresh and clean air and prevent flooding and landslides. The aim of the work is to educate and inform every citizen on the importance of protecting our nature. Fertile trees are one of our legacies for the future of the youth and future generations." MENRO said.

The activity also aimed to promote community involvement in environmental initiatives and encourage people to take action towards a greener and cleaner environment. By working together, the town of Baras can achieve a more sustainable and eco-friendly future for all its residents.
