TERESA, Rizal - A workshop on Volumetric Calibration and Fuel Dispenser Verification was recently held in Teresa at the St. Rose Formation Center, Brgy. Poblacion, Teresa, Rizal, to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in ensuring accurate fuel measurements and dispenser verification.
This workshop was organized by the local government unit (lgu) of Teresa, Rizal, and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of Calabarzon to support the local government's efforts to promote consumer protection and fair trade practices.
Brigido Casanova Jr., a Science Research Specialist II and the Laboratory Head of DOST CALABARZON's Regional Volumetric Calibration Laboratory (RVCL), was the resource speaker for this training.
Casanova stressed the importance of calibration in maintaining fairness and transparency in the fuel industry, as well as proper procedures for conducting volumetric calibration and verification tests, during the training.
The workshop was attended by personnel from the Business Permit and Licensing Offices (BPLO) and various LGUs in Rizal Province, where they learned about the importance of regularly verifying fuel dispensers and how to calibrate them correctly.
The basics of volumetric calibration and fuel dispenser verification were reviewed, and then the lecture moved on to cover a wide range of related topics, such as compliance with Philippine laws governing volumetric calibration and the role of the BPLO in this process.
The workshop followed the lecture directly to a nearby gas station, where attendees could observe the calibration and verification of a fuel dispenser being performed in real time. (with reports from DOST Rizal)
