IMUS CITY, Cavite - The provincial government of Cavite and the city government of Tagaytay have formed a strong partnership aimed at ensuring the city's long-term viability.

Both governments are committed to implementing initiatives that will ensure the long-term well-being of Tagaytay and its residents, with a shared vision of preserving natural beauty and promoting eco-friendly practices.

They hope to create a model city that prioritizes sustainability and sets an example for other regions in the country by collaborating on various environmental projects such as waste management systems and renewable energy initiatives.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) ceremony was recently held at Cavite Arbor Day 2023 as part of the Province of Cavite's Expanded Greening Program on July 21, 2023, at Barangay Sungay East, Tagaytay City.

The MOA represented the Cavite province's and Tagaytay's city governments' collaborative efforts with various government agencies and other relevant stakeholders to address the region's pressing issues of environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The MOA aims to streamline resources, share expertise, and implement effective strategies to ensure Tagaytay's natural resources are preserved for future generations.

Cavite Arbor Day 2023 is an initiative spearheaded by the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources (OPENRO) to commemorate the provincial government's commitment to conserving and restoring the Taal Volcano Protected Landscape (TVPL).

To ensure the long-term success of the tree planting initiative, the MOA outlined specific objectives, responsibilities, and action plans. It also addressed maintenance strategies, regular monitoring, and project progress evaluation to track the impact on TVPL.

400 narra, sampalok, langka, guyabano, and caballero seedlings were planted within the boundaries of Barangay Sungay East, San Jose, Iruhin East and Central, Maharlika East and West, and Tolentino East and West.

Private companies and stakeholders, Cavite PNP personnel, national government agencies, and local officials from various Tagaytay City barangays attended the event.
