ANTIPOLO CITY - Under the Recovery and Reintegration Programs for Trafficked Persons (RRPTP), Antipolo City's local government unit launched an initiative to assist victims of human trafficking, online and commercial sexual exploitation of children.

The local government, led by Mayor Andrea Ynares, collaborates with various stakeholders, such as non-governmental organizations and law enforcement agencies, to ensure a coordinated and effective response to combat human trafficking in the city.

She said that their main priority is to provide comprehensive support and assistance to the victims, including medical and psychological services, legal aid, and skills training for their reintegration into society.

The local government also actively promotes awareness campaigns and conducts regular trainings to educate the community about the dangers of human trafficking and how to prevent it.

Meanwhile, each of the victims received livelihood assistance worth P10,000, helping to get them started again.

"This is in addition to what they receive from the government and other organizations. They will also have access to comprehensive support and rehabilitation services," the Mayor said.

"We also continue to deliver recovery and reintegration services to meet the psychosocial, social, and economic needs of victim survivors. We are also continuing to strengthen our community-based systems to prevent anyone from becoming a victim of trafficking," she added.

The assistance includes skills training, job placement support, and access to microfinance programs to help them start their own businesses.

RRPTP also provides psychosocial support and counseling to help victims recover from their traumatic experiences and rebuild their lives.
