ANTIPOLO CITY - The public can now use the rainwater catchment facility with an elevated pump station in Vermont Royale Executive Village in Brgy. Mayamot, Antipolo City. It is expected to significantly improve the area's water supply.
Rizal Governor Nina Ynares stated on Facebook recently that this rainwater catchment facility can store up to 1,300 cubic meters of rainwater, or more than one million liters.
She also stated that the elevated pump station will provide the community with a consistent and reliable water supply, reducing their reliance on outside sources.
The rainwater catchment facility, in addition to being a good way to supply water when there is a shortage, is also a way to prevent flooding in the area by diverting excess rainwater away from the streets and drainage systems.
The local government says the rainwater catchment facility will have a filtration system to ensure that the stored water is clean and safe to use.
A monitoring system will be installed at the facility to track water levels and ensure efficient management of the stored rainwater.
This long-term solution promotes water conservation and reduces the strain on existing water resources, ultimately benefiting both the environment and the community.
Building a number of these facilities in flood-prone areas of the province will not only help to reduce flood risk but will also provide additional rainwater storage capacity.
Excess rainwater can be collected and stored by strategically placing these facilities in flood-prone areas, preventing further damage to properties and infrastructure.
