SAN MATEO, Rizal - The 3-day Capability Enhancement Seminar for violence against women (VAW) Desk Officers has begun in San Mateo, Rizal on July 4, 2023.
This seminar aims to provide VAW Desk Officers with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively address and respond to cases of violence against women in their respective communities.
This initiative is cooperation of the San Mateo, Rizal- Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office MSWDO and the Gender and Development Office - San Mateo Rizal.
The seminar includes various topics such as understanding the dynamics of gender-based violence, legal frameworks and protocols, victim support services, and community engagement strategies.
Through this collaboration, the organizers hope to empower VAW Desk Officers to create safer and more inclusive communities for women.
The seminar also aims to foster networking and collaboration among VAW Desk Officers from different regions, enabling them to share experiences and learn from each other's successes and challenges.
This seminar focuses on the effective management and handling of gender-based violence cases by VAW Desk Officers from different barangays.
This is due to their roles as the main ones who deal with victims of abuse and help handle VAW cases. By equipping VAW Desk Officers with the necessary skills and knowledge, they can better support survivors and ensure that justice is served.
In addition this seminar will provide them with updated information on laws and policies related to gender-based violence, empowering them to advocate for stronger measures against perpetrators.
