PAGBILAO, Quezon - The local government of Pagbilao held Radio Communication Protocol training on July 17, 2023, under the direction of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, to inform the public about the importance of emergency telecommunications (ETC) for barangay tanod, traffic enforcers, and local government CCTV employees.
Mayor Angelica Portes stated in a speech that effective communication is critical during emergencies because it ensures a timely response and coordination of various emergency personnel.
She emphasized the importance of proper protocol in radio communication to avoid confusion and maximize efficiency in delivering critical information.
According to the MDRRMO, if clear and concise communication is not maintained, there may be confusion and delays in providing needed aid and support.
MDRRMO also added that effective communication can help reduce additional risks and ensure the safety of both responders and those affected "as it allows for accurate information sharing and coordination of efforts.
"Using radio communication devices, emergency responders can quickly relay critical updates, request additional resources, and coordinate rescue operations." the MDRRMO said.
This training is critical in ensuring that all participants are well-prepared to handle any emergency situation and effectively communicate with their team members and other agencies involved.
