ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal - The provincial government has inked an agreement with the South Korean province of Gyeongsangbuk-do vice governor on July 9, 2023, to collaborate for the betterment of their provinces and their people.
In a Facebook post, Rizal Governor Nina Ynares stated, "It became clear during our conversation with Vice-Governor Lee Dal-hee of Gyeongsangbuk-do that we share the same goal of cooperation with her provincial governments to further improve the state of both provinces and for the future and betterment of our people jurisdiction."
"We are both hopeful that we will be able to share, cooperate, and associate the development and progression of our two provinces." Ynares said.
Ynares added that the sisterhood agreement emphasized the Philippines' and South Korea's friendship.
This agreement demonstrates nations' strong bond and mutual understanding, fostering a deeper connection that transcends geographical boundaries.
The sisterhood agreement creates opportunities for cultural exchange, economic partnerships, and people-to-people interactions, ultimately strengthening the Philippines' ties with South Korea.
Gyeongsangbuk-do officials also invited her to visit the location, which has been used in the films Hometown Cha Cha Cha, Kingdom, When The Camellia Blooms, and Alchemy of Souls.
