DOLORES, Quezon - The Barangay Health Station of Barangay Sta. Lucia in Dolores, Quezon, has recently achieved the status of being a fully Certified Adolescent Friendly Health Facility (AFHF).

This certification recognizes the health station's commitment to providing comprehensive and age-appropriate healthcare services to adolescents in the community.

It ensures that young people have access to confidential and non-judgmental care, promoting their physical, mental, and social well-being.

The facility has undergone training and has implemented programs that focus on promoting the physical, mental, and social well-being of adolescents. They have also established a safe and supportive environment for them to seek help and support.

With this recognition, the health station can now offer specialized services such as reproductive health education, counseling, and access to contraceptives, catering specifically to the needs of adolescents in a safe and confidential environment.

The said accreditation was awarded by the Quezon Provincial Health Office as a Level 1 Adolescent Friendly Health Facility , which signifies that the health station meets the required standards in providing comprehensive and age-appropriate healthcare services to adolescents.

This is the first in the 2nd District and the third in the entire province of Quezon , highlighting the commitment of the health station to prioritize the health and well-being of adolescents in the community.

The accreditation demonstrates the dedication of the health station staff to providing comprehensive and age-appropriate healthcare services, ensuring that adolescents have access to the support and resources they need for their physical and emotional development.

AFHF was formed to provide more comprehensive health knowledge and services to the youth of St. Lucia. This can expand the service to the entire town of Dolores when the ordinance prepared by Councilor Nurse Joed Reyes is passed.

This expansion will allow AFHF to reach a larger population and fulfill its mission of promoting the health and well-being of all adolescents in the community. With the support of the councilor, AFHF can make a significant impact on the overall health outcomes of the youth in Dolores.

Meanwhile, the Dolorez local government, led by Mayor Orlan A. Calayag, extends heartfelt congratulations to the leadership of BHS- Sta Lucia, led by Kap. Mario Pia, for the recognition they received among BHW, BNS, and RHU, led by Dra. Ruby Ana Dimaano, and to all who have been partners in promoting health services for the residents of Dolores.

The local government of Dolores acknowledges the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting health services for its residents.

The mayor believes that by working together with various stakeholders, such as BHS- Sta Lucia, BHW, BNS, and RHU, they can continue to improve and expand the health services available to the community.
