CAVITE CITY - The city government continues to strive to make education more inclusive for person with disabilities in Cavite City and has implemented various initiatives to achieve this goal.
One such initiative is conducting training on Inclusive Education Strategies: Enabling Teachers Training on August 8 and 9 in underserved neighborhoods, providing accessible education opportunities for all residents.
The Carmona Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) emphasized this initiative as a step towards ensuring equal access to education for individuals with disabilities. This initiative aims to remove barriers and create a more inclusive learning environment.
They believe that by equipping teachers with the necessary knowledge and skills, they can create an inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students, regardless of their abilities.
Additionally, the city government collaborates with local schools and organizations to offer scholarships and financial aid programs, ensuring that no student is left behind due to financial constraints.
50 teachers from Senior High School and Cavite State University Carmona attended the said training with the aim of providing teachers with knowledge in handling and teaching students with disabilities.
According to Mayor Dahlia Loyola, it is good to guide the teachers, particularly the college instructors in the city, regarding teaching PWD learners because currently there are six (6) Persons With disabilities (PWD) in their city who will enter the college.
She also said that it is important for teachers to be equipped with the necessary skills and strategies to effectively support and accommodate students with disabilities in their classrooms.
Loyola emphasized the need for inclusive education in order to create a more inclusive and equal society for all individuals, regardless of their abilities.
