SILANG, Cavite - Preserving our significant cultural properties is crucial for maintaining our heritage and identity. These properties not only hold historical value but also serve as a source of inspiration and pride for future generations.
In commemoration of History Month this August, the project Conservation Goes to the Province of Cavite: A Training on the Conservation of Movable and Immovable Cultural Property is being conducted in Silang, Cavite.
This four-day training aims to educate participants on the proper techniques and methods of preserving and conserving cultural properties.
According to the organizer, through this training, they emphasize the importance of preserving and conserving cultural properties as a way to safeguard our heritage and ensure its longevity.
They believe that by doing so, future generations will be able to appreciate and learn from the rich history and traditions of our ancestors.
The training sessions include topics such as handling and storage, documentation and inventory management, and preventive conservation measures.
The introductory program was attended by Dr. Emmanuel Franco Calairo, the current Chairperson of the National Historical Commission of the Philippines, and Silang Mayor Atty. Alston Kevin Anarna.
The participants in this training are from different towns and cities in the province, representing various cultural institutions and organizations.
