MONTALBAN, Rizal - The Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Unit emphasized the importance of barangay cooperation in combating drug trafficking through coordination with related institutions at the regional level, according to the statement.

In addition, the unit underlined the importance of increasing monitoring and intelligence gathering in order to identify drug syndicates operating in Montalban.

They advocated for tougher enforcement of laws and punishments to dissuade those involved in drug trafficking.

On August 12, 2023, the unit addressed the necessity of educating students about the potential risks of drug usage and the importance of making educated decisions in Preventive Drug Education at Manggahan National High School.

They emphasized the importance of comprehensive drug education programs that not only address the repercussions of drug use, but also provide students with alternative activities and support structures to keep them from becoming involved in drug-related activities.

They also underlined the importance of parents, teachers, and community leaders in creating a drug-free environment for adolescents.

The Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse operators work together to achieve their aim for the pupils by arranging community activities and workshops that promote drug awareness and prevention.

They also work with local law enforcement to keep the community secure and drug-free.

Such youth initiatives by the barangay demonstrate that they care more about their pupils' futures and are committed to giving them with the necessary support and guidance.

This coordinated effort ensures that young people have the knowledge and resources they need to make educated decisions and reject drug temptations.
