LUCENA CITY - Rep. Keith Micah Tan, also known as "Atorni Mike" of Quezon Province's 4th District introduced this week the National Employment Master Plan, also known as the "Trabaho para SA Bayan Act," which will serve as the government's employment generation and recovery master plan.

The Trabaho para sa Bayan Act or the House Bill No. 8419, according to the bill's explanatory note, shall, among other things, boost national and local economic growth and development; enhance workers' employability, competitiveness, wellness, and productivity; and offer assistance and incentives to enterprises and businesses.

It stated that a Trabaho para sa Bayan Inter-Agency Council would be formed in order to develop success metrics, key performance indicators, and action items, including the provision of support for the establishment, ongoing operations, and expansion of micro, small, and medium enterprises.

The bill also provides for the localization of this Act through the formulation of plans, programs, or projects geared towards employment recovery and job generation within the respective jurisdictions of local government units.

According to the congressman who proposed the bill, the formation of the Trabaho para sa Bayan Inter-Agency Council is critical to ensuring effective coordination and implementation of employment recovery initiatives.

This council will bring together various government agencies and stakeholders to address the establishment, continuity, and growth challenges faced by micro, small, and medium enterprises.

Furthermore, the bill recognizes the importance of empowering local government units to develop tailored plans and programs that cater to their specific employment needs and opportunities.

"As a major social force, we must prioritize providing jobs for all Filipino citizens. People who have enough and a proper livelihood are an indication of true development," Tan remarked.

Tan believes that the bill will not only increase job opportunities but will also contribute to the country's overall economic development.

He emphasizes that empowering local government units to develop tailored plans and programs is crucial to addressing the unique employment needs and opportunities of different regions.

By allowing local government units to develop tailored plans and programs, it ensures that job creation efforts are aligned with the specific needs and resources of each region. This approach will lead to more effective and sustainable job opportunities, ultimately improving the livelihoods of Filipino citizens across the country.

Tan also highlights the importance of sustainable job creation, ensuring that employment opportunities are not only created but also sustained in the long run.

He emphasizes the need for continuous support and development of industries that can provide stable employment, such as agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism. This will not only address the immediate job needs but also contribute to the overall economic growth and stability of the country.
