CALAMBA CITY, Laguna - The presentation of awards to outstanding youth champions in various categories, demonstrating their dedication and positive impact on society, was the highlight of the Laguna Provincial Government's Youth Week celebration.

In conjunction with the celebration with the theme Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World, the awards aimed to recognize and encourage young individuals who have made significant contributions towards environmental sustainability and conservation efforts.

The event also featured a series of workshops and seminars on sustainable practices and green skills, providing the youth with valuable knowledge and tools to make a positive difference in their communities.

Additionally, there were interactive exhibits showcasing innovative projects and initiatives led by young people, inspiring others to take action for a more sustainable future.

In her speech, Congresswoman Ruth Mariano-Hernandez encouraged the youth to actively participate in these initiatives and emphasized the importance of their role in shaping a sustainable future.

She highlighted the need for collaboration and collective action, urging them to use their voices and creativity to drive positive change in their communities and beyond.

More than 400 participants from various youth organizations attended this program, representing a diverse range of backgrounds and perspectives.

During the event, the Top 10 Sibol Awardees, who received P2,000 per group, and 4 groups that were presented as Youth Champions Award recipients, who received P25,000 per group, were recognized for their outstanding contributions and innovative projects.

This will be used to fund the project suggestions they submitted. The prizes served as a monument to young people's enormous potential and contribution to building a brighter future.

The Outstanding Youth Sangguniang Kabataan (SK), Local Youth Development Officer (LYDO), and Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) were also recognized by Laguna.

Governor Ramil Hernandez congratulated the winners and emphasized the importance of empowering and supporting the youth in their endeavors.

He expressed his hope that this recognition would inspire other young individuals to actively participate in community development and continue making a positive impact.

The Provincial Government of Laguna also expresses gratitude to the National Youth Commission (NYC), Youth Development Affairs (YDA), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Sangguniang Kabataan, Model Sangguniang Kabataan, and Gawad Laguna Inc. for their continued support of youth activities.
