SAN FRANCISCO, Quezon - 50 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries of Butangiad Farmers Association Incorporated (BAFA Inc.) from San Francisco, Quezon, recently received P1 million worth of agricultural inputs and training that aims to enhance their farming techniques and improve their overall productivity.
The farmers' group was also provided with necessary equipment like multi-tilling machines and sprayers, further contributing to their efficiency in agricultural operations
Limnard Luna, president of BAFA Inc., said that the support they received will greatly benefit their members and help them achieve higher yields and better income.
He expressed gratitude to the government and other stakeholders for recognizing the importance of empowering agrarian reform beneficiaries and investing in their development.
Luna also emphasized that with these resources, they are confident in their ability to contribute to the local economy and provide for their families.
The organization also underwent training under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Program (CRFPSP), a major crop-based initiative of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to adapt to climate change and ensure sustainable farming practices.
This program has not only enhanced their productivity but also strengthened their resilience against the challenges posed by changing weather patterns.
Furthermore, it has empowered them to contribute to the overall conservation of natural resources and promote environmental sustainability.
Aside from graduation and awarding ceremonies, the program also includes distributing six (6) e-titles with an estimated area of 15 hectares to some member beneficiaries under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project, which serve as legal proof of land ownership.
These e-titles ensure that the member beneficiaries have secure and documented ownership of their land, protecting them from potential disputes or encroachments.
Additionally, the distribution of e-titles promotes economic stability and development within the community by allowing beneficiaries to use their land as collateral for loans or investments.
Meanwhile, San Francisco Mayor Roming "Erpat" Edaño has expressed gratitude to DAR for their support of the farmers and their efforts in promoting land ownership.
He believes that with the implementation of e-titles, the farmers will have a stronger sense of security and empowerment, leading to improved livelihoods and a thriving agricultural sector in San Francisco.
