SAN MATEO, Rizal - Community collaboration and celebration have never been more colorful as participants of all ages come together to run, walk, and dance through the vibrant streets of San Mateo.

San Mateo is celebrating its annual festival, dubbed San Mateo Septemberfest 2023, with the theme "Bayanihan at Pagasenso: Sentro ng Pistang San Mateo," which celebrates the whole month of September.

The Color Run is one of the highlight events of the festival, attracting a record-breaking number of participants each year. It not only promotes health and wellness but also fosters a sense of unity and camaraderie among the diverse community of San Mateo.

More than 800 people have participated in the Color Run on September 17, 2023, making it the largest turnout in the festival's history. The vibrant colors and energetic atmosphere of the event created a lively and festive ambiance throughout the streets of San Mateo.

In the short introductory program, Mayor Omie Rivera said he supports programs that promote good physical and overall health in the community.

He emphasized the importance of events like the Color Run in encouraging active lifestyles and bringing people together in a fun and inclusive way.

Councilor Leo Buenviaje, Councilor Joey Briones, Councilor Boy Salen, and Municipal Administrator Henry Desiderio joined the color run to show their support for the community's health and wellness initiatives.

3-kilometer and 5-kilometer routes were set up for participants to choose from, accommodating individuals of all fitness levels.

The Color Run also featured various activities and booths promoting healthy living, such as free health screenings and nutritional workshops.

Special awards were given, and the top 3 finishers in different categories were also honored with medals and prizes.

Bureau of Fire Protection, San Mateo Rizal, and the Boy Scouts of the Philippines supported the event by providing assistance and ensuring the safety of all participants.
