PITOGO, Quezon - The Municipal Plaza in Pitogo, Quezon Province, became the venue for the opening of the 45th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week, spearheaded by the Persons with Disability Affairs Office.

Aligned with Presidential Proclamation No. 1870, s. 1979, as amended by the Presidential Competition Commission (PCC), the week-long celebration carries the theme “Person with Disabilities Accessibility and Rights: Towards a Sustainable Future where No One is Left Behind” commenced on September 7, 2023.

The Quezon Provincial Health Office (QPHO), through its Noncommunicable Diseases Unit, discussed topics regarding mental health and stress management during a recent seminar. The participants were educated on various strategies to cope with stress and improve their mental well-being.

In order to advance general wellbeing, QPHO recognizes the significance of addressing mental health concerns and intends to offer help and services to the community. The QPHO wants to spread knowledge about mental health and lessen stigma by hosting lectures and workshops.

Additionally, the importance of seeking professional help and creating a support system was emphasized to ensure individuals receive the necessary assistance in managing their mental health effectively.

The objectives of the said activity were to promote the mental and overall wellness of the members, their significant others, and caregivers, as well as foster a sense of community and support among them.

Furthermore, it also aims to increase awareness about the importance of prioritizing mental health and emphasizing different strategies for managing stress.

It was attended by a total of 287 participants from various towns and cities across the province of Quezon who actively engaged in discussions, workshops, and networking sessions to foster collaboration and exchange ideas for the betterment of their communities.
