LUCENA CITY - The Quezon Provincial Government held a ceremony to honor retirees who have dedicated their service to the province. This event served as a token of gratitude for their hard work and dedication, as well as a celebration of their achievements and the impact they have had on the community.

The Service Awards were given to retired employees to recognize their invaluable contributions and commitment throughout their careers with records of commitment during at least 15 years of service to provincial government of Quezon during this year’s Service Awards for Retirees 2023 held on September 18, 2023 at Provincial Capitol Building, Lucena City, Quezon.

Quezon Governor Angelina "Helen" Tan expressed her gratitude and admiration for the retirees, highlighting their dedication and hard work that have positively influenced the community and shaped the province of Quezon into what it is today.

"You will never experience my strictness again," Governor Tan jokingly remarked, bringing laughter to the audience as she acknowledged the retirees' contributions.

According to the governor, she is strict in hiring and promoting employees because she believes in maintaining high standards and ensuring that only the most qualified individuals are selected.

She stressed that her strictness is a reflection of her commitment to excellence and her desire to see the province of Quezon thrive under capable leadership.

She went on to express her hope that the retirees would enjoy their well-deserved rest and find fulfillment in their future endeavors, while also acknowledging their valuable contributions to the province during their years of service.

"Maraming maraming salamat po sa inyong taon na binigay na pagseserbisyo, whether maliit or malaking contributions, iyan po ay nirerecognize ng pamahalaang panlalawigan," she said.

She also promised to strive harder to fix the program for the employees of the provincial government who are still working tirelessly, ensuring that their needs and concerns are addressed.

Additionally, she expressed her commitment to solving the problem they are facing by working closely with the employees and implementing necessary reforms.

She emphasized the importance of open communication and collaboration to find effective solutions that will benefit everyone in the provincial government.

Governor Tan recognized that their dedication and hard work have greatly influenced the community, and she expressed her commitment to continue supporting and empowering all employees in the future.

The longest-serving retiree, Maria Alendy Piopongco from IPHO, who had dedicated 43 years of service to the province since she was a student, was honored with special recognition for her unwavering commitment and dedication.

Governor Tan praised Piopongco's remarkable achievements and acknowledged her as an inspiration to the younger generation, highlighting how her dedication and hard work have paved the way for future success in the province.

She encouraged everyone to follow in Piopongco's footsteps and continue to strive for excellence in their respective fields, emphasizing that through hard work and determination, they too can make a significant impact on their communities.

Thirty employees earned the service award, which included a P1000 cash prize for each year of service. That is, those who had been with the company the longest received a greater financial incentive.

The service award not only recognizes the dedication and commitment of these employees but also serves as a motivation for others to stay loyal to the organization and strive for long-term success.

It is a testament to the provincial government's belief in rewarding hard work and fostering a culture of excellence among its workforce.
