POLILLO, Quezon - Quezon Province's first Mini Science Centrum has opened on September 12, 2023, at Polillo Central Elementary School, providing an exciting and interactive learning experience for students and visitors of all ages.
The Mini Science Centrum is equipped with a variety of hands-on exhibits and experiments that encourage scientific curiosity and understanding, with the goal of improving pupils' knowledge of science and technology.
In a speech, Quezon Governor Angeling "Helen" Tan praised the Mini Science Centrum for its ability to engage and captivate learners of all ages, calling it a valuable resource for fostering a love of science and exploration.
The province's doctor-governor emphasized the importance of providing accessible and interactive learning opportunities to students, especially in rural areas where resources may be limited.
She emphasized how the interactive exhibits and educational programs offered at the center create a stimulating environment for learning, encouraging students to explore and discover scientific concepts on their own.
Tan also expressed her hope that the Mini Science Centrum would inspire future scientists and innovators, ultimately contributing to the advancement of science and technology in the region.
According to her, another Mini Science Centrum would open in Quezon by October 2023, providing children in the province with even greater access to hands-on science education. She also thanked the Philippine Foundation for Science and Technology, the Polillo local government, the Department of Education, and the Department of Science and Technology for the help they provided in facilitating the creation of the Mini Science Centrum.
