SAN MATEO, Rizal - The San Mateo Municipal Health Office offered free and confidential lung screenings to the community.

The screenings, dubbed "Ayos ka Lungs?" were held at Brgy. Ampid II Covered Court on September 19, 2023, aimed to detect any potential lung diseases or abnormalities.

The MHO provided free chest X-rays to ensure a thorough examination and promote early detection for better treatment outcomes.

About 150 residents took advantage of the opportunity to have their lungs checked, with many expressing gratitude for the accessible and convenient service.

The event also included educational materials and resources on maintaining healthy lungs and preventing respiratory illnesses.

Those diagnosed with Tubercolosis (TB) get treated under the TB-DOTS Program , which provides free medication and support for the duration of their treatment.

This comprehensive approach ensures that individuals receive the necessary care to effectively manage their condition and prevent the spread of tuberculosis within the community.

Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) has extended its support to the TB-DOTS Program by providing funding for the training of healthcare professionals and the establishment of treatment centers in remote areas.

Through this partnership, PBSP aims to improve access to quality healthcare services for individuals affected by tuberculosis, particularly those living in underserved communities.

MHO expresses gratitude to PBSP for their support in strengthening the TB-DOTS Program and for their commitment to improving the health outcomes of individuals affected by tuberculosis.

This collaboration will greatly contribute to reducing the burden of tuberculosis in remote areas and ensuring that no one is left behind in accessing essential healthcare services.
