SANTA ROSA City, Laguna - The Sta. Rosa government has announced plans to conduct the largest free spay/neuter program for cats and dogs in the city.
This initiative aims to address the growing population of stray animals and promote responsible pet ownership.
The program will provide free sterilization services to pet owners, helping to control the animal population and reduce the number of homeless animals in Sta. Rosa City.
The registration and screening will be on September 19 at the City of Santa Rosa Animal Impounding Facility in Barangay Sinalhan.
Pet owners who want to use the free spay/neuter services must bring their pets aged 6 months to 4 years, with a corresponding weight of 5 kilos for cats and 15 kilos for dogs, as well as a government-issued ID or proof of billing and a Pet Vaccination Certificate or Record.
The program also includes educational sessions on responsible pet care and the importance of spaying and neutering in maintaining a healthy and sustainable pet population.
However, only the residents of Sta. Rosa are eligible to avail themselves of the free spay and neuter services for their pets.
