TAYABAS CITY, Quezon - The barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections (BSKE) are fast approaching, and candidates in Tayabas have recently come together to sign an amity pact.
Mayor Lovely Reynoso-Pontioso addressed the candidates in the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections 2023 who attended the briefing and signing of the Peace Covenant in Silangang Bayan, Tayabas, Queozn on Friday, September 8, 2023.
This pact signifies their commitment to maintaining a peaceful and respectful campaign period and ensuring that the elections are conducted in a fair and democratic manner.
The mayor also advised them to be prepared, as they would face a lot of responsibilities as local officials, including making important decisions that would directly impact the lives of their constituents.
She emphasized the importance of being transparent and accountable in their actions, as well as fostering open communication with the community to effectively address their needs.
The signing of the peace covenant signifies their commitment to uphold fair play, ethical conduct, and the peaceful resolution of any conflicts that may arise during the election process.
It also highlights their dedication to prioritize the welfare of their constituents and work towards a united Tayabas community.
The activity was led by City Election Officer Rhodora Gonzales at the Briefing and Signing of the Peace Covenant, along with Tayabas City Police Station Chief PLTCOL Bonna Obmerga, Deputy Provincial Director for Operation PLTCOL Sheree Ann Ubaña, LT Rey Albert Dimaano, Sheri Anne Shane Avila, and Pastor Fernando P. Sombrero.
