GUMACA, Quezon - Representatives of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) recently highlighted the need to identify the catchment area for their social welfare programs.
In a recent meeting at the Sangguniang Bayan session hall with several barangays in Gumaca, Quezon, Project Development Officer Jennifer Senocin emphasized the importance of accurately determining the catchment area to ensure that their programs reach the most vulnerable and marginalized communities.
She discussed with barangay captains the plan to establish 4Ps Parent Leader Stations in 28 barangays in the said town, which will facilitate the provision of services such as health and education assistance, livelihood training, and cash transfers to eligible beneficiaries.
These stations will serve as the catchment area of remote barangays and will coordinate with the Municipal Operation Office (MOO) in the municipality to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
According to the local government unit (LGU) of Gumaca, the establishment of these 4Ps Parent Leader Stations is also looking towards the goal of promoting empowerment in the women's sector and enhancing their participation in decision-making processes.
These stations will provide a platform for women to voice their concerns and needs and actively contribute to the development of their communities.
RA 11310, or 4Ps Law, is the national poverty reduction strategy and a human capital investment program that provides conditional cash transfers to poor households for a maximum period of seven (7) years to improve the health, nutrition, and education aspects of their lives.
Gumaca LGU hopes that through the catchment area stations, women will have increased access to information and resources that can empower them to break the cycle of poverty.
