PAGBILAO, Quezon - The government’s intensified crackdown on illegal drugs and contrabands inside detention facilities continues as the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)- Quezon District Jail in collaboration with the Philippine National Police (PNP)- Pagbilao Municipal Police Station, conducted Operation Greyhound at the BJMP manned jail facility in Sitio Fori, Barangay Talipan, Pagbilao, Quezon, October 13, 2023.
The surprise inspection was carried out by jail authorities led by district jail warden, Jail Supt. Jack Lord Cariño and police personnel led by its team leader, Police Executive Master Sergeant Gerry Ram.
Under Oplan Greyhound, BJMP personnel and other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) search jail cells for contraband such as illegal drugs and weapons.
No illegal drugs were confiscated during the operation. There were, however, electric wires, long Christmas lights, aluminum wires, belts, small mirros and ballpens recovered from detainees’ living spaces.
Most of the 431 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) inside the QDJ are facing illegal drug charges, like with most of the jail facilities across the province. | via JO2 Joefrie Anglo, Serbisyong Ugnayan sa Pamayanan
