The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) distributed P1.8 million in Cash for Work (CFW) in Mulanay, Quezon, earlier this week through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO).

According to the Mulanay local government, a total of 470 beneficiaries received livelihood assistance at P4,000.00 each under the DSWD Risk Resiliency Program, Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation, and Disaster Risk Reduction Program.

The DSWD said in a statement that the aim of the program is to increase the adaptive capacities of vulnerable communities to cope with the impacts of climate change and disasters.

The cash assistance provided through the CFW aims to support individuals in Mulanay by providing them with temporary employment opportunities while also addressing their immediate needs for income.

Mulanay Mayor Aristotle Aguirre expressed his gratitude for the assistance, stating that it will greatly help the community recover from the recent calamities and build resilience for future disasters.

He emphasized the importance of such programs in ensuring the well-being and stability of vulnerable communities in the face of climate change and increasing disaster risks.

116 beneficiaries have also received an Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) payout from 3rd District Rep. Reynante Arrogancia to help them recover and rebuild their lives.

AICS is also a program from DSWD that provides financial assistance to individuals and families affected by calamities and crisis situations.

With the assistance of the office of Arrogancia, applications for financial aid—such as those for medical, educational, burial, and food assistance—were also quickly processed.

Meanwhile, the local government of Mulanay has also given school supplies and slippers to the students of Ajos Elementary School.

This initiative is part of Mulanay Vice Mayor Jay Esplana Castilleja's efforts to support education and ensure that students have the necessary resources for their learning.

The students and the principal expressed their gratitude for the assistance provided by the local government.

They believe that these initiatives will greatly contribute to improving the students' educational experience and overall well-being.
