SANTA CRUZ, Laguna - Over hundreds of presidents of Home Owners Associations from the first to second districts came to the 7th annual Laguna Housing Summit on October 26, 2023, to learn about new housing development opportunities in the region.
The Provincial Government, under the leadership of Governor Ramil Laurel Hernandez, and the Provincial Urban Development and Housing Office (PUDHO), in conjunction with the celebration of 2023 National Shelter Month at the Cultural Center in Santa Cruz, organized the summit.
The event aimed to provide a platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing among stakeholders in the housing sector, including government officials, developers, and community leaders. Participants were able to attend informative sessions on topics such as affordable housing initiatives, sustainable development practices, and innovative financing options.
The summit also featured an exhibition showcasing various housing projects and technologies that could potentially address the region's housing needs. Overall, the Housing Summit served as a valuable opportunity for attendees to stay updated on the latest trends and strategies.
The new programs and projects, as well as the services offered by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, were discussed. These discussions highlighted the government's commitment to providing affordable housing solutions and improving living conditions for all citizens.
PUDHO's main service is helping to arrange and provide technical services to the poor countrymen so they can have a permanent residence. Through partnerships with various stakeholders, PUDHO aims to empower marginalized communities by facilitating access to housing loans and grants.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of each citizen having their own house and not renting. This approach not only fosters a sense of stability and security but also contributes to the overall development and growth of the nation. By promoting homeownership, the government aims to create a society where individuals have a stake in their communities and can actively participate in shaping their future.
