CATANAUAN, Quezon - The Quezon Provincial Hospital Network—Bondoc Peninsula District Hospital—broke ground today, October 3, 2023, in Catanauan, Quezon, marking a significant milestone in improving healthcare access for the residents of Catanauan and Bondoc Peninsula.
The new hospital will be dedicated to providing comprehensive medical services to the local community, including emergency care, specialized treatments, and preventive healthcare programs. It will also feature state-of-the-art facilities and advanced medical technologies to ensure the highest quality of care for patients.
Quezon Governor Angelina "Helen" Tan, in collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and Provincial Engineering Office, led the groundbreaking ceremony for the new hospital.
The governor emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare in the region and expressed her gratitude to all the stakeholders involved in making this project a reality.
She also highlighted that the new hospital will not only improve healthcare services but also create job opportunities for local residents, boosting the economic growth of the Bondoc Peninsula.
The P30 million budget of this project will come from the Health Facility Enhancement Program of the Department of Health and the Quezon Provincial Government, while P50 million will come from the DPWH Quezon 3DEO initiative of Senator Imee Marcos.
The planned building has three floors with a total area of 11,000 square meters, including a helipad. The first floor will house the Main Lobby, Ancillary Offices, Emergency Area, Dialysis Area, Pharmacy, Laboratory Area, Radiology Department, Outpatient Department, Engineering Maintenance and Ambulance, Linen and Laundry, Cadaver Holding, and Infectious Waste Area.
The rooms and wards, nurse station, medical wards, pedia, OB-Gyne ward, and operating rooms will be placed on the second floor, along with the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Vice Governor Anacleto "Third" Alcala, 3rd District Congressman Reynan Arrogancia, Board Member John Joseph Aquivido, Mayor Ramon Orfanel, Department of Health Center for Health Development CALABARZON Dr. Ariel Valencia, and Chief of Hospital Dr. Rosaline Ojastro were present during the groundbreaking ceremony for the district hospital.
The district hospital is expected to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the residents of the 3rd district, including specialized care for women and newborns.
