CAVINTI, Laguna - The diversion dam and irrigation canal, with a total worth of P7.9 million, have been officially handed over by the Department of Agriculture (DA) to the municipality of Cavinti, Laguna.
Cavinti Mayor Arrantlee Arroyo said that this project is from the RICE Program of the Department of Agriculture, which aims to increase rice production and improve the livelihood of farmers.
He expressed his gratitude to the Department of Agriculture for their support and emphasized the importance of the diversion dam and irrigation canal in ensuring a stable water supply for agricultural activities in Cavinti.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the local government in promoting sustainable agriculture practices and ensuring the proper maintenance of the irrigation system.
In addition to increasing rice production, the project will also create jobs for nearby farmers, which the mayor stressed will have a positive effect on the region's overall economic development.
