BACOOR, Cavite - The local government of Bacoor has launched a program on November 23, 2023, to provide free dentures to persons with disabilities (PWDs) residing in the city. Through this initiative, the local government hopes to alleviate the financial burden of acquiring dentures for PWDs, allowing them to have a better quality of life and regain their confidence in social interactions.
This initiative of the local government, through the City Health Office (CHO), led by Dra. Ivy Marie Yrastorza aims to improve the oral health and overall well-being of PWDs by ensuring they have access to proper dental care and prosthetics, such as dentures.
The City Health Office will also provide education and awareness programs to promote good oral hygiene practices among PWDs, empowering them to take control of their dental health.
300 PWDs received the free dentures offered by the local government. The local government collaborated with dental professionals to ensure that the dentures were custom-made and properly fitted for each recipient.
Bacoor Mayor Strike Revilla expressed his gratitude to Jorwin Bautista, the head of the PWDs, for successfully bringing together the community of persons with disabilities for this significant event.
The mayor acknowledged the efforts made by Jorwin to foster unity and inclusivity among individuals with disabilities, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in creating a more inclusive society.
