GENERAL MARIANO ALVAREZ, Cavite - Detainees at the General Mariano Alvarez (GMA) Municipal Jail received free medical care, dental consultations, hygiene kits, and medicine on November 24, 2023 as part of a community outreach program organized by the local government.


The initiative, dubbed "Puso para sa Bilanggo' aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), promote their well-being, and ensure access to necessary medical resources.



GMA Mayor Maricel Torres emphasized that the assistance provided to people in the town is inclusive and extends to all individuals, regardless of their circumstances.

She highlighted that this includes extending support to PDLs, who are also part of the community and deserve equal access to assistance programs.

The Municipal Health Office led by MHO Dr. Eduardo Alcasid, Municipal Dentist Dra. Ednalyn Alcasid, JCInsp. Christian Javier went to the local jail to conduct a medical and dental mission for the PDLs.

Torres expressed her gratitude for the support given to PDLs , stating that their assistance has been instrumental in achieving positive outcomes for the program.

She also stated that her administration will continue to improve her programs for people of all socioeconomic backgrounds, because she believes in providing equal opportunities and resources for everyone.

Torres emphasized the importance of inclusivity and pledged to work towards creating a more inclusive society where every person can thrive and succeed, regardless of their background or circumstances.
