ANTIPOLO CITY, Rizal - The city government of Antipolo recently carried out a successful rescue operation for 102 Sama Bajau individuals. These individuals were in need of assistance and were promptly provided with the necessary support by the city government.
The Bajau were rescued by the Antipolo city government's Sama Bajau Operation in Barangay de la Paz, Barangay Mayamot, and Barangay Sta. Cruz only recently.
To protect the safety and well-being of the Sama Bajau population, local authorities, social workers, and non-governmental groups worked together to carry out the operation.
The goal of the operation was to provide essential services and support to the community, including access to healthcare, education, and economic opportunities.
The City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWD) coordinated the operation and provided immediate assistance to the rescued Bajau.
The CSWD immediately transported the Sama Bajau to the town of their origin so that they could return to their homes safely and properly reintegrate into their community.
According to the Antipolo local government unit, their rescue operation will continue in full force among the Badjaos, especially this coming Christmas, which is expected to be the time when they will flock to the streets to seek alms and support.
If anyone wants to report a similar situation, the public is advised to contact the local government or send a message to the office's official Facebook page for immediate assistance.
The Antipolo LGU is committed to ensuring the welfare and safety of the Sama Bajau community and encourages the public to help in providing necessary support and resources for their proper integration.
