SARIAYA, Quezon - The 2023 year-end evaluation of GAD-related PPAs in Sariaya revealed significant progress and achievements in promoting gender equality and women's empowerment. The evaluation highlighted the successful implementation of various programs and initiatives that have positively impacted the lives of women and marginalized groups in the community.
The focal point was attended by department heads and employees from various offices of Sariaya's local government, who were led by Randy Tronila, Executive Administrator of Municipal Gender and Development (MGAD).
Sariaya Mayor Marcelo Gayeta and his wife Marivic Gayeta, Chairperson of the MGAD, were also present at the focal point to show their support and commitment to gender equality initiatives. They expressed their satisfaction with the results and emphasized the importance of continuing these efforts to ensure a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
During the program, Ronan Nantes, acting municipal administrator and public information officer, highlighted the various programs and initiatives that the local government has implemented to promote gender equality. He also emphasized the need for ongoing education and awareness campaigns to address gender stereotypes and discrimination.
Following this, selected department heads shared the Report of Accomplishment for projects related to gender and development, showcasing the positive impact these initiatives have had on the community. The report highlighted successful collaborations with local organizations and the allocation of resources towards empowering women and promoting equal opportunities.
The dance-drama presentation, where the various clusters of the local government made up of its offices competed, sparked the activity. The theme of the presentation was violence against women and children. Cluster 4 won the championship, with Cluster 2 taking second place and Cluster 1 taking third. In a speech, Mayor Gayeta Gayeta commended the efforts of all the clusters and emphasized the importance of raising awareness about violence against women and children. He also announced that the winning cluster's proposal for a community center dedicated to providing support and resources for survivors of violence would be implemented with immediate effect.
Certificates of recognition were also given to the departments of General Services Office (GSO), Accounting and Internal Audit Services (AIAS), Municipal Budget Office (MBO), Municipal Treasurer Office (MTO), HRMO-PESO, Municipal Nutrition Action Office (MNAO), POPCOM, Office of the Municipal Agriculture (OMA), Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO), Office of the Municipal Mayor, Environmental Health and Sanitation Services, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), Municipal Assessor's Office (MAS), Secretary to the Sangguniang Bayan, Municipal Library, and Municipal Health Office (MHO). There were also cash and raffle prizes in the said activity.
