TAYABAS CITY, Quezon - The individual was apprehended, but not for any violation on their part. Instead of a ticket, they were captured getting a Christmas gift. The unexpected turn of events left them both relieved and surprised.

As a Christmas surprise, traffic officers gave a lucky tricycle driver who they had stopped a package of rice and spaghetti. The driver, who had been struggling to make ends meet, was overwhelmed with gratitude for the unexpected act of kindness. This heartwarming encounter reminded everyone of the true spirit of Christmas and the power of small gestures to make a big difference in someone's life.

The Tayabas City Traffic Operations Section set up a surprise operation this morning, Tuesday, December 19, 2023, near the common terminal of tricycles in the public market, not to arrest traffic violators but to give gifts to those who are kind tricycle drivers with complete vehicle documents and a franchise.

Mayor Lovely Reynoso-Pontioso herself led the distribution of rice and spaghetti packs to motorists who were stopped as a surprise reward for being responsible and to foster the spirit of Christmas in those who serve as residents' primary source of transportation.

The surprise operation aimed to recognize and appreciate the efforts of tricycle drivers who diligently followed traffic rules and regulations. The act of giving gifts not only brought joy to the recipients but also encouraged other motorists to prioritize safety and responsibility during the holiday season.
