CAINTA, Rizal - The provincial government of Rizal has handed over PHP 100,000 in cash gifts each to a centenarian in recognition of their remarkable achievement of reaching the age of 100.
The cash gift serves as a token of appreciation for their contributions to society and a gesture of respect for their longevity. It is from the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and is part of the government's efforts to honor and support the elderly population in Rizal.
The PSWDO aims to ensure that centenarians receive the recognition and assistance they deserve, promoting a culture of respect and care for the elderly in the province to provide financial support to centenarians.
The said cash gift was personally given by Rizal Gov. Nina Ynares to Ester Esguerra, who was recognized as the 34th centenarian in the province of Rizal. Ester Esguerra, who recently turned 100 years old, was deeply grateful for the cash gift she received.
Meanwhile, the governor urges her constituents that if there is a known senior citizen who is 100 years old or older and has not yet been given recognition, they can only approach the office of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO).
