LUCENA CITY - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon's E-PALABUS, or "E-PALABUS or Elektronikong Paalala sa Lulan ng Bus," project is now fully operational and making a significant impact on the commuting experience of bus passengers in Quezon.
Since its launch on December 1, 2023, it has revolutionized the way passengers receive information during their bus rides. The E-PALABUS project utilizes electronic screens installed inside buses, providing real-time updates on routes, schedules, and important announcements, ensuring a more convenient and efficient travel experience for commuters.
It can be recalled that the said agency and bus operators here had a meeting to discuss the implementation of the E-PALABUS project. During the meeting, both parties agreed to implement the project as a pilot program on select bus routes in Quezon.
E-PALABUS can be found on Jac Liner and Lucban Genesis Transport Multipurpose Cooperative passenger vehicles with a route originating in Lucena City. The system will provide passengers with accurate and timely information about their trip, including delays or changes in schedules.
Meanwhile, videos about fair trade laws from DTI Consumer Care and infomercial videos of the winners of the 2023 Infomercial Video Making Contest will also contain such reminders for passengers. These videos will be played on screens installed inside the passenger vehicles, ensuring that passengers are constantly reminded of their rights and the importance of fair trade.
DTI Quezon has partnered with Lucena Grand Central Terminal Inc. and the Consumer Organization-Quezon Federation Union of Cooperatives in the administration of the said project. The collaboration ensures that the reminders are effectively disseminated to a wide audience, as Lucena Grand Central Terminal Inc. serves as a major transportation hub in Quezon province.
