MULANAY, Quezon - In the recent Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) Functionality Assessment for the year 2023 , the local government of Mulanay received an ideal rating.
CALABARZON Regional Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (RIACAT-VAWC) give the the recognition and according to them , Mulanay's local government has demonstrated exemplary commitment and dedication towards creating a safe and secure environment for women and children.
The ideal rating reflects their successful implementation of comprehensive programs, such as awareness campaigns, support services, and strict law enforcement, which have significantly contributed to the reduction of trafficking and violence in the community.
The awarding ceremony was held at the Laguna Provincial Capitol - Calamba Extension Office, Barangay Halang, Calamba City, Laguna with the presence of government officials, local leaders, and representatives from various women's rights organizations.
Meanwhile, Mulanay Mayor Aristotle Aguirre expressed his gratitude for the recognition and emphasized the importance of continued efforts in protecting the rights and welfare of women and children.
He emphazised the priorities of his administration is to strengthen law enforcement and implement programs that empower women and children to ensure their safety and well-being.
Mayor Aguirre further stated that he ensures that all the councils and committees that manage every sector of Mulanay are able to comply with the standards set by law and are committed to promoting gender equality.
