PAKIL, Laguna - A child recently died from rabies in the municipality, prompting Mayor Soriano to take immediate action. The intensified anti-rabies program aims to raise awareness about the importance of vaccinating pets and educate the community on proper animal handling practices.
With Pakil Mayor Vincent Soriano leading the charge, Municipal Agriculturist Thess Payumo and the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian Mary Grace Bustamante are working closely together to implement the program.
They recently organized an information dissemination program against rabies at Cornelio C. Dalena Elementary School in Barangay Gonzales, where they conducted a series of interactive lectures and demonstrations.
The program highlighted the symptoms of rabies in animals and emphasized the need for immediate medical attention if bitten by a potentially rabid animal. In addition, municipal agriculturists announced that free anti-rabies vaccinations for all pet owners in the community are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.
Mayor Soriano expressed his gratitude to the municipal agriculturists for their efforts in raising awareness about rabies and ensuring the safety of the community's pets. He also urged all residents to take advantage of the upcoming free vaccinations and to be responsible pet owners by keeping their animals properly vaccinated and securely confined.
This initiative also aims to ensure that all pets in the community are protected against rabies and reduce the risk of transmission to humans. The local government is actively promoting responsible pet ownership and encouraging residents to take advantage of this opportunity to safeguard their beloved animals.
