BATANGAS CITY - The city government here announced on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, that they have received the 2022 Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) data from Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) IV-A Calabarzon. The turnover of this data will greatly assist the city government in making informed decisions and implementing effective policies for the development and welfare of Batangas City's residents.
In order to get ready for the system's nationwide rollout last year, the Pilot CBMS aims to test every aspect of operations and identify any potential issues or challenges that may arise. The successful turnover of the 2022 CBMS data to Batangas City demonstrates the effectiveness and efficiency of the system, paving the way for its implementation in other cities across the country.
Batangas City Mayor Beverley Dimacuha has expressed gratitude to PSA IV-A Calabarzon for providing the 2022 CBMS data to the City Department heads, City Planning and Development Office staff, and, most importantly, the enumerators, for the seamless conduct of the CBMS survey.
The mayor also stated that current data is used as the foundation for government program design and implementation. "We want to maximize our scarce resources to meet the needs of our people," Mayor Dimacuha said.
The CBMS is a joint project of the PSA and the city government of Batangas, managed by the CPDO. CBMS data collection was conducted from August to March, with subsequent data processing from March to May 2022.
There are 87,808 responding households, while 333,936 are the covered population from the city's 105 barangays.
Part of the data gathering is the economic status, level of education, health, occupation, environment, and others. The collected data will remain confidential and will be used only for the aforementioned purpose.
