Silang launches new FITS center at supporting farmers thru IT

SILANG, Cavite - Silang local government unit, has recently inaugurated a new Farmers Information and Technology Services (FITS) center which aims to provide comprehensive support to farmers in the area by offering them access to valuable information, modern farming techniques, and technological advancements in agriculture.

Additionally, the FITS center will serve as a hub for training programs and workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of local farmers, empowering them to thrive in an ever-evolving agricultural landscape.



Silang Mayor Kevin Anarna joined local officials and representatives from the agricultural sector in the ribbon-cutting ceremony, expressing his commitment to the development of the farming community.

He emphasized the importance of equipping farmers with the necessary tools and knowledge to adapt to changing industry trends and maximize their productivity. The launch of the FITS center marks a significant step towards achieving this goal and fostering sustainable growth in Silang's agricultural sector.

Office of the Municipal Agriculture, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture , spearheaded the establishment of the FITS center. It will serve as a one-stop service facility in a community that provides easy access to agri-fishery information and technologies.

Anarna spoke at the center's opening on how it will assist agriculture in the community develop and farmers' livelihoods improve. He emphasized the importance of knowledge sharing and technology adoption in order to overcome challenges such as climate change and market fluctuations.
