LUCENA CITY, Quezon - In Quezon Province Christmas and New Year are filled with festive celebrations and unique traditions. Locals in Quezon Province eagerly anticipate the switch on lighting cermony of their colorful and elaborate Christmas decorations. The New Year celebrations in Quezon Province continue with huge fireworks displays and vibrant street gatherings. The locals gather to welcome the new year with joy and excitement, creating a festive atmosphere throughout the province. It is a time of togetherness and merriment as families and friends come together to celebrate the holiday season in Quezon Province.

Meanhwile, Philippine National Police (PNP) said that this year’s New Year's celebration was generally “peaceful” and there were no major incidents reported in the country based on the PNP’s monitoring of the peace and order situation on December 31 and the morning of January 1, said PNP spokesperson Police Col. Jean Fajardo in an interview with GMA’s Unang Balita on Monday.
In spite of this, according to Fajardo, two additional occurrences of illegal discharge of firearms occurred the day prior to the new year, bringing the total to eleven as of Monday morning. All of these things happened in the middle of the day on December 31st.
Fajardo stated that the PNP will remain on high alert until next week to maintain peace and order, particularly when terminals become busier with people returning from holiday. The PNP announced on December 30 that it had detained 12 people nationwide for selling prohibited firecrackers, and that over 28,000 prohibited firecrackers worth P244,130 had been confiscated during the holidays.
The celebration of Christmas in the entire province of Quezon was also peaceful according to police officials here, with no major incidents reported. They ensured that their ranks do their mandate to protect the people and ensure everyone is safe from any violence or harm.
