LUCENA CITY, Quezon - First Lady Louise Marie "Liza" Araneta-Marcos has spearheaded the LAB (Lingap at Alagang Bayanihan) for ALL Caravan Services initiative in Quezon, a program aimed at providing primary healthcare services to all residents, which was held on Tuesday, January 9 at the Quezon Provincial Capitol.
This primary healthcare service includes free laboratory testing for various diseases, medical check-ups, family planning services, the distribution of free medicines, tree-planting activities, coastal clean-up drives, and feeding programs, among other services.
At least 1,500 individuals received these healthcare services during the LAB for ALL Caravan Services initiative in Quezon. The program was successful in reaching a wide range of residents, ensuring that they had access to essential healthcare services. The LAB for ALL Caravan also highlighted the importance of health consultation and education, providing individuals with the opportunity to receive personalized medical advice and information on preventive measures.
During her speech, Lady Louise Marie "Liza" Araneta-Marcos said, "In his first SONA (State of the Nation Address), my husband said we must bring medical services to the people and not wait for them to come to our hospitals and health care centers. That's what he said, and I'm here to make sure he delivers on his promise to you."
She also emphasized the significance of delivering medical services directly to the people, rather than expecting them to seek healthcare at hospitals and health care centers. She expressed her commitment to ensuring that her husband fulfills his promise of accessible and convenient medical assistance for all.
Quezon is the 18th province in the country to benefit from the caravan, and it is a testament to the national government's dedication to reaching every corner of the country with essential healthcare services. This initiative highlights the importance of proactive healthcare outreach and demonstrates a commitment to improving the overall health and well-being of all citizens.
Meanwhile, Quezon Gov. Angelina "Helen" Tan expressed her gratitude for the caravan's visit to Quezon Province, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on the local community. She also commended the national government's efforts in prioritizing healthcare accessibility and convenience, recognizing it as a crucial step towards achieving better healthcare outcomes for all residents.
"Talaga pong tuwang tuwa kami sapagka't ganito din po ang ginagawa po namin sa lalawigan ng Quezon ang ilapit ang serbisyo sa mamayan at hindi po tayo ang hahanapin nila," the governor doctor said.
Tan also commended other government agencies that assisted the caravan, including the Department of Health, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Department of Interior and Local Government.
In addition to free consultations and laboratory tests, people received free services from several government organizations, including legal advice, scholarship funding, seedling distribution, and livelihood training consultancy.
Some beneficiaries also got interventions such as free housing from the National Housing Authority, educational support from the Commission on Higher Education, and crops from the USDA.
