LUCENA CITY, Quezon - The nation's iconic, trendsetting, and emerging festivals are how the Philippine LEAF Awards recognize the best of the best in the festival industry. With categories ranging from music and the arts to food and culture, these prestigious awards celebrate the creativity, innovation, and impact of festivals across the country.

Quezon's Niyogyugan Festival is one such festival that has gained recognition through the Philippine LEAF Awards and will be honored with the New Sibol, or Emerging Festival Award, on February 8, 2023, at the Metropolitan Theater in the City of Manila.

"The LEAF Tertualia and Awards 2024 is not just any ordinary awards ceremony. It will celebrate the best in Philippine culture and the arts—past, present, and future. True Filipino artists will be an integral part of this grand event," said LEAF Founder and Head Juror for Music, Frank Rivera.

The Niyogyugan Festival is an annual celebration held in the province of Quezon, known for its rich coconut industry. It has been held every year since its inception in 2011 and has attracted both local and international tourists.

At the LEAF Awards, two additional festivals in the country—the Higantes Festival in Angono Rizal and the Kadayawan Festival in Davao—will be honored. These festivals have also made significant contributions to Philippine culture and have become highly anticipated events for locals and tourists alike.

The festival not only promotes the province's coconut industry but also serves as a platform for local artists to showcase their talents and preserve their cultural heritage. With its continuous growth and recognition, the Niyogyugan Festival is poised to become one of the country's most prominent cultural events in the years to come.

The Philippine LEAF Awards are an award-giving body dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the outstanding achievements of Filipino artists in the fields of live entertainment, arts, fashion, and festivals.

In addition to giving honor to Filipino artists, the Philippine LEAF Awards also aim to raise awareness and appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines, highlighting the talents and contributions of local artists. The awards contribute to the overall growth and development of the country's arts and entertainment industry.

This year's awards theme is "Tertulia at Parangal 2024 (Gathering and Honors)," which reflects the spirit of unity and recognition within the Filipino artistic community, fostering a sense of camaraderie among artists and inspiring collaboration, ultimately strengthening the country's creative landscape.
