PAGBILAO, Quezon - The town of Pagbilao celebrated a double triumph on January 27, 2024, with the inauguration of its renovated public market and the distribution of four tractors to local farmers. The festive event, coinciding with Pagbilao Mayor Gigi Portes' birthday, symbolized a multifaceted commitment to progress: infrastructural upgrades, agricultural empowerment, and collaborative governance.

The tractors, funded by the Rice Competitive Enhancement Fund (RCEF), were allocated to Barangays Bantigue, Binahaan, Alupaye, and Mapagong. This collaboration between Congressman Enverga and Mayor Portes signifies a shared vision for empowering local farmers and enhancing their productivity.

Mayor Portes acknowledged Congressman Enverga's role in initiating the public market renovation, highlighting its potential to provide a cleaner and more presentable space for vendors to showcase their produce. The modern facilities aim to attract customers and boost the local economy.

It is a dream, according to Mayor Portes, to see the agricultural sector thrive and for farmers to have access to better resources and opportunities. The allocation of funds to these barangays is a concrete step towards achieving this dream, as it will directly benefit the farmers in these areas and contribute to their overall growth and success.

In order to ensure quality and not just quantity, the local government of Pagbilao also put up a new agriculture building where farmers and groups of women will continue to be trained.

But the benefits go beyond aesthetics. The revamped market prioritizes hygiene and sanitation, creating a safer and more pleasant environment for vendors and shoppers alike. This aligns with the local government's broader commitment to enhancing Pagbilao residents' quality of life.

Furthermore, the four tractors represent a vital step towards rural development. By easing farmers' workloads and potentially increasing their yields, these tools hold the power to transform lives and strengthen Pagbilao's agricultural sector.

Provincial Administrator Butardo reaffirmed the provincial government's unwavering support for Pagbilao's initiatives. This collaborative spirit bodes well for the town's future, promising continued progress and prosperity for its residents.

The opening of the renovated public market and the distribution of tractors mark a turning point for Pagbilao, showcasing a commitment to progress on multiple fronts. The town is poised for a bright and vibrant future thanks to improved infrastructure, empowered farmers, and a strengthened partnership between local and provincial governments.
