SARIAYA, Quezon - Paramedics and firefighters here are celebrating some new wheels that will enhance their emergency response capabilities. The addition of these ambulances will ensure quicker and more efficient medical assistance, ultimately saving more lives in Sariaya town.
Five new ambulances and a pick-up truck for local fire departments have been added to the Bureau of Fire Protection's fleet to help transport personnel and rescue equipment to areas not easily accessible by conventional vehicles.
During Monday’s flag-raising ceremonies and blessing of the vehicles, Mayor Marcelo Gayeta told the residents that this is available for free use in case of emergencies and urged them to take advantage of this service.
He emphasized the importance of timely medical assistance and encouraged everyone to call for help whenever needed. The addition of these vehicles reflects the government's commitment to prioritizing the safety and well-being of the community, ensuring that help is readily available when it matters most.
“Anyone using the ambulance won't have to spend anything, even for the fuel and the driver's wages. The services are completely free of charge. Patients will be picked up from their homes, and brought to the hospital and brought home again… for free,” he said.
Gayeta claimed the town spent PHP10.4 million to buy the six vehicles, which were specifically designed and equipped to provide efficient and reliable medical assistance.
The local government now has 16 ambulances to service the medical requirements of 43 towns in the area. This boost in resources will ensure that inhabitants receive timely and high-quality medical care, hence improving the whole healthcare system in the area.
