TANAUAN CITY, Batangas - Mayor Sonny Collantes has partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region IV-A to strengthen social services through a crucial Data Sharing Agreement. This collaboration gives Tanauan City access to valuable information about vulnerable households, enabling a more effective and targeted approach to tackling poverty.
Signed on January 18, 2024, the agreement involves a three-way partnership between the city government, the Tanauan City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), and the DSWD. A key element is the city's access to the Listahanan 3 Data, the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction. This comprehensive database provides detailed profiles of families living below the poverty line, allowing the CSWDO to pinpoint beneficiaries and tailor programs to their specific needs.
"This is a game-changer for our fight against poverty in Tanauan," declared Mayor Collantes. "With accurate data, we can finally target our resources efficiently, reaching the most vulnerable families and providing them with the tools they need to break free from poverty."
With 5,760 of Batangas's 149,791 poor households residing in Tanauan, this initiative holds immense potential. Equipping the CSWDO with a clear understanding of these families' circumstances allows the city to implement targeted programs for income generation, education support, or healthcare interventions.
The agreement also fosters closer collaboration between the city government and DSWD, streamlining the delivery of social services. Regular data sharing and joint monitoring efforts will ensure resources are utilized effectively and families receive ongoing support to improve their lives.
The Data Sharing Agreement marks a significant step towards a more equitable and prosperous future for Tanauan. By leveraging data-driven insights and fostering strong partnerships, the city government is paving the way for a future where all residents have the opportunity to thrive.
